Homemade Pizza Dough

To keep with the spirit of Pizza, I figured I should now post our pizza dough recipe. The original recipe comes from the kitchen of my Mother-in-law, but we have since modified it to fit our needs. Here it is!!

One pizza
3/4 c warm water
1 T yeast
1 T brown sugar
1/6 t salt
1 T olive oil
1 2/3 c whole wheat flour

Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in mixing bowl until the yeast is activated- about 5 ish minutes. Then mix in the rest of the ingredients. Add flour until the dough no longer sticks to the pan. We then usually take the dough out, pour a little olive oil into the bowl and then turn the dough over and over, until all sides are covered. (Helps to keep the dough from sticking to the pan as it raises.) Place the bowl in a warm area (our garage works great in the summer-in the winter we usually turn the oven on the lowest setting-170-and keep it in there for about 10 minutes), and raise until doubled. Roll out on a floured surface.

We then roll it out to fit our pan (a pizza stone), roll up the edges (because we like a fluffy crust), and top with our favorite toppings. Put it in the oven for 26 minutes (maybe more...) and then eat!
